Luis Perdomo (born February 19, 1971 in Caracas, Venezuela) is an American jazz pianist and composer. He is directly and indirectly influenced by Bud Powell, Oscar Peterson, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, McCoy Tyner, Bill Evans and Herbie Hancock.〔http://www.mariahwilkins.com/perdomo/bio.html Profile from artist management company〕〔 Bio - see External Links〕 He studied at the Manhattan School of Music and Queens College in New York City, where he studied under Sir Roland Hanna, receiving degrees from both institutions. He has played with Ralph Irizarry and Timbalaye, Ray Barretto's sextet, John Patitucci, Yosvany Terry, as well as Brian Lynch, Jerry Gonzalez and The Fort Apache Band, Dave Gilmore and Ben Wolfe. He has been a long-standing member of both Miguel Zenon's and Ravi Coltrane's quartets respectively. In addition, he has released three CD's as leader: "Focus Point" in 2005, "Awareness" in 2006 (both on Ravi Coltrane's label RKM Music) and "Pathways" in 2008 on the Criss Cross Jazz label.
